Chicago's Jaime Evangelista took the hill for 31 starts this year, came away with 15 victories and copped the 2007 Liberty League Platinum Rookie as well.
The 24-year-old newcomer tossed 197 innings and dealt out 127 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a .247 average. Evangelista fashioned a 15-7 won-lost mark with a 3.29 ERA.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will present his trophy to him at the annual gathering this weekend.

In 2007, the top pitcher in the Liberty League was Ryan Collins.
The San Antonio hurler will receive the Bronze Arm.
In a standout year he went 20-9 in 36 starts with 178 strikeouts in 258.2 innings and an impressive 1.60 ERA.
The SBWA will present his trophy to Collins at the group's annual awards dinner this weekend.
