| Breaking News |  | Thursday, October 25th, 2007: #1 Pitcher Trophy Won by Gunslingers Collins
In 2007, the top pitcher in the Liberty League was Ryan Collins.
The San Antonio hurler will receive the Bronze Arm.
In a standout year he went 20-9 in 36 starts with 178 strikeouts in 258.2 innings and an impressive 1.60 ERA.
The SBWA will present his trophy to Collins at the group's annual awards dinner this weekend.

 | Saturday, September 22nd, 2007: 5 Hits for Gunslingers Cobos
It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-5 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Clemente Cobos got one today. He scattered hits all over Alamo Stadium to pace San Antonio to a 14-5 victory over Fort Wayne.
The Fort Wayne skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Cobos hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
C. Cobos singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off A. Oquendo in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Barrios in the 9th.
In the 2007 campaign Cobos has hit at a .258 clip with 48 RBIs, 8 home runs and 48 runs scored.

Leo Pacho of the Fort Wayne Wizards blanked San Antonio 6-0 on a 6-hit complete game shutout, striking out 3 batters and walking 0.
In 31 starts this season Pacho has crafted a 15-11 record with a 2.88 ERA.
