| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 21st, 2007: Detroit Pitcher Wins 200 Games Detroit ace Jarvis Turnbow solidified his place in history with his 200th career victory today at Sparkplug Stadium. Turnbow and the Sparkplugs bested Jacksonville 8-6. He checked the Suns on 8 hits in 7.2 innings and finished the day with 6 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"I've worked hard for this day," the elated Turnbow told SION. "Sometimes I didn't think it would happen. Most of the time it seemed so far off. Now it's here. It's like a dream!"
Turnbow has compiled a lifetime ERA of 2.83 with 200 career victories and 85 defeats. He has 2694 career strikeouts in 2761 innings and has held opponents to a 3.251 batting average. |  | Wednesday, September 12th, 2007: Suns Cohn to Miss 1-2 Weeks Kenneth Cohn and the Jacksonville Suns got a bad break in today's game against the Sparkplugs as the team confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with a strained back muscle. The Suns reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
This year Cohn has collected 1 save in 66 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 5-3 won-lost mark with a 3.31 ERA and fanned 69 batters in 81.2 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .275 clip in 2007. |  | Monday, July 2nd, 2007: Francisco Reaches 2000 The day belonged to James Francisco of the Fort Wayne Wizards as he became the latest player to reach the 2000-hit plateau. He did it in Fort Wayne's 4-3 win over Jacksonville. "It's a moment I'll never forget," said Francisco after the game, "2000 hits is a lot. It puts you in a very select group. I never expected to be around long enough to reach a milestone like this."
